There weren’t as many steps, but there were still a lot of manual processes. Then we moved to laptops, and then mobile devices.

You navigate the role of CIO? NACAPUY: The answer is yes. I firmly believe that the CIO needs to be technical. Most of the failed projects and implementations are because many of our modern CIOs don’t understand technology. This has become the biggest problem in our industry. If your CIO doesn’t understand technology, how do they make technology decisions? Some CIOs get this information from consultants, some from their staff.
